Congratulations to Dr Gemma Sharp PhD my coauthor on our paper Nonsurgical Medical Penile Girth Augmentation: Experience-Based Recommendations Aesthetic Surgery Journal 2017. Dr Sharp was just announced as one of the 5 under 40 University of New South Wales (UNSW) and Australian Board Casting Corporation Radio National (ABC RN) top scientific researchers.
For the last 3 years the UNSW in conjunction with ABC RN have been looking for the top young researchers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medical research. It is a fantastic recognition to be considered for such an award and probably more difficult to not be doing research in basic sciences/technology/engineering.
Dr Sharp PhD (what some might say is a ‘real doctor’ having a doctorate level qualification) did her thesis on attitudes towards and reasons to have genital enhancement procedures. She is currently, amongst many other things, doing a follow up study with our patients having CALIBRE on both why they chose to have penile augmentation and their satisfaction with the procedure.
We are very proud to have Dr Sharp working with us. We look forward to continuing to produce scientific publications on injectable phalloplasty as her media career continues to grow.
